Match your route to the advertised value

LINEMO's July week-four page combines its ongoing PayPay offer with a temporary bonus and fee waiver. The biggest number is not available to every applicant, so identify your number route and plan before comparing totals.

  • MNP from a carrier other than SoftBank, Y!mobile, or LINE Mobile: the advertised total is ¥20,000 in PayPay points on Best Plan V or ¥14,000 on Best Plan.
  • A new Japanese number: the advertised total is ¥14,000 on Best Plan V or ¥7,000 on Best Plan.
  • Transfer from SoftBank, Y!mobile, or LINE Mobile: the page lists the ¥3,850 fee waiver, not the PayPay totals above, and requires a separate post-activation entry.
  • The PayPay amount is conditional value, not cash savings. Pick Best Plan or V for monthly data and call needs first, then treat the campaign as a bonus.

Use the application and activation order

The official application window is 2026-07-27 through 2026-08-02. Eligible applicants must start LINEMO by the end of the month after the application month, so submitting the form alone is not enough.

  • MNP and new-number applicants do not need a separate entry for the temporary contract-fee waiver, according to the campaign page.
  • SoftBank, Y!mobile, and LINE Mobile transfers must enter after activation, using the LINEMO number, by the end of the activation month.
  • Keep the old line and MNP information available until the new number, calls, carrier SMS, and important 2FA all work.
  • After opening the line, check campaign status in My Menu instead of assuming the banner price was applied.

Budget for a delayed PayPay reward

The landing page says the points are planned around the beginning of the seventh month after the activation month. That delay matters if you are budgeting for arrival costs, school, housing, or work setup now.

  • Keep the email registered in My Menu current because the PayPay point code is sent there.
  • Install PayPay and complete the code-receipt flow when the message arrives; the reward is not an immediate bill credit.
  • PayPay points cannot be withdrawn as cash or transferred, though LINEMO says they can be used in PayPay and eligible official stores.
  • The detailed terms can exclude contracts that do not satisfy the underlying campaign or remain eligible through the judgment process. Recheck the PDF and My Menu status before counting the reward.

Prepare resident documents and payment before the week starts

The deadline does not relax LINEMO's identity or payment checks. Foreign residents should make the application name, address, identity route, and payment holder consistent before opening the form.

  • LINEMO's current identity page lists a residence card and, for non-permanent residents, a foreign passport. Requirements differ by residence status and verification route.
  • Use the contract holder's current name and address. A mismatch or incomplete image can cancel the application rather than reserve the campaign.
  • LINEMO accepts credit-card or bank-account payment. The credit card must use the contract holder's name, and online card registration requires the issuer's 3-D Secure 2.0 flow.
  • Check that the phone is compatible and SIM-unlocked or SIM-free. eSIM avoids shipping but still needs review, activation, and working internet for setup.

Choose the phone line before the campaign

LINEMO is a resident-style line for a Japanese number, normal calls, and carrier SMS. A tourist data-only eSIM is usually a better first choice for maps and translation when no Japanese number is needed.

  • Compare the monthly tiers and July cancellation rule in the LINEMO plan guide before chasing the one-week benefit.
  • Use the residence-card verification guide if your card was issued in the new format, and the FAQ for phone-number, SMS, eSIM, and payment questions.
  • If LINEMO does not fit your support, data, call, or roaming needs, return to the plan comparison rather than applying for points.
  • This site includes referral links. Open the referral page only after confirming the official July 27–August 2 campaign and any stacking rules on application day.
