Why this offer is timely

Official povo pages checked on 2026-07-14 still list the campaign as active, and a FAQ published on 2026-07-10 confirms that an existing povo customer can add another eligible line. The benefit is 0.1GB for 24 hours after activation plus ten promo codes for 24-hour unlimited data, sent to the email registered to the new line.

• The campaign began on 2026-06-19 and currently has no announced end date; povo may change or end it without advance notice.
• The ten unlimited-data codes are not ten automatically running days. Use each code when you need a high-data day.
• The official release says the promo-code input deadline is the end of the month after the SIM activation month, so monitor the registered email and plan the ten days before the codes expire.

Enter the code before the application leaves your hands

AUKAITEKI is an application-time campaign code, not a code you can add later. Start in the povo app as a new customer, enter the code, press Apply, confirm the displayed benefit, and only then continue the application.

• If you submit without the code, the official FAQ says it cannot be applied afterward. An unfinished application may need to be cancelled and restarted.
• Complete SIM activation during the campaign. povo recommends activation between 09:30 and 20:00 because later requests can finish on a different schedule.
• If the same person opens multiple lines with the campaign code during the campaign, only the first eligible new line receives the benefit. The reward attaches to the new line, not an older povo line.

Choose Data Only or Calls + Data before signup

A second line should solve the right problem. Data Only is useful for maps, translation, video calls, hotspot days, a tablet, or backup internet. Calls + Data is the route when banking, housing, school, work, delivery, normal calls, or carrier SMS require a Japanese phone number.

• Data Only needs no identity document, but it is eSIM-only, cannot receive normal calls or SMS, cannot use MNP, works only in Japan, and requires another SMS-capable line during setup.
• Data Only also requires an initial Topping purchase at signup; the campaign reward does not remove that purchase requirement.
• Calls + Data requires identity verification and can use eSIM or a physical SIM. Keep the main line active until the new number, SMS, payment, and activation path work.

Plan the practical second-line setup

The headline value is useful only if your device, email, account, and maintenance plan support another line. One povo account email can hold one line, so an additional line needs a separate email address.

• Confirm that the phone supports Dual SIM and the chosen eSIM or physical-SIM combination. Check SIM lock and povo compatibility before starting.
• Most contracts have no application fee, but the current official page charges ¥3,850 per line from the sixth line opened under the same name within one year, including certain cancelled lines.
• Basic service is ¥0 at 0GB and up to 128kbps. If there is no paid Topping purchase or other qualifying use for 180 days or more, service may be suspended or cancelled.

Choose this campaign when you have a real backup-line use, can activate promptly, can receive povo email, and know whether data-only or phone/SMS service fits. Skip it if you only want the reward but cannot manage another line or its expiry rules.
