Who can realistically use this campaign
Rakuten Mobile's official Galaxy page checked on 2026-07-12 lists a 2026-06-10 start and no announced end date. The strongest route is built for a first Rakuten Mobile application by MNP with a Samsung Galaxy S26, S26+, or S26 Ultra purchased at the same time.
- The maximum route combines 10,000 points for an eligible first MNP application, 6,000 points tied to an eligible Android purchase and plan application, and 7,000 points from the Galaxy S26 MNP campaign.
- An existing-customer 7,000-point device-change route is separate and limited to users who met the official line-status condition on 2026-06-09; it is not a fallback for every new customer.
- This is a resident phone-number and device purchase decision. Short-stay visitors who only need maps, translation, trains, hotel apps, and messaging should compare a data-only eSIM instead.
Follow the order before checkout
The maximum value depends on sequence. Treat the campaign page as the start of the application, not a coupon to find after buying.
- Enter the eligible first-application campaign before applying; the official page warns that entry after the application is not eligible for that part of the stack.
- Apply by MNP for Rakuten Saikyo Plan or Rakuten Saikyo U-NEXT and buy an eligible Galaxy S26-series phone in the same order. The Data Type plan is excluded from the checked MNP campaign.
- Start the plan and place a qualifying Rakuten Link call of at least 10 seconds by 23:59 on the last day of the month after application and purchase.
- Watch Rakuten Link and email for later point notices. Some points require the user to claim them, arrive in installments, and have limited validity.
Clear the foreign-resident identity route first
A large point headline does not remove identity, address, name, payment, or MNP checks. Rakuten's English identity page says residence-card details must match the application, the card must be valid and show the current address, and romaji should be used when the card shows both kanji and romaji.
- If the address stored on the residence-card IC chip is not current, simple mobile ID verification cannot be used and Rakuten directs the applicant to a shop.
- Specified residence cards and second-generation residence cards issued from 2026-06-14 cannot use simple mobile ID verification; the official page currently directs those holders to a Rakuten Mobile shop.
- Keep the old line active until MNP and activation are ready. A failed identity check, cancelled application, or missed activation/Rakuten Link deadline can break campaign eligibility.
Separate phone price from campaign points
The checked Galaxy S26 product page lists a cash price of ¥136,800. Its advertised ¥1,990 monthly figure applies only to months 1–24 of a 48-payment Rakuten Card route; months 25–48 are listed at ¥3,710, and returning the device can involve a ¥3,300 administrative fee plus possible damage charges.
- Do not subtract 23,000 points from the phone price as if it were cash received at checkout.
- Compare the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra total price, storage, size, eSIM/SIM needs, and payment schedule before choosing the campaign route.
- If you cannot complete the MNP or identity path calmly, a device-only purchase or another phone plan may be safer even when the headline reward is smaller.
Use this decision checklist
Choose the campaign only when the Galaxy model, Japanese number, MNP timing, Rakuten ID, identity documents, payment, and Rakuten Link steps already fit. Let the points be the final layer of the decision.
- Compare the broader Rakuten device-campaign guide and Japan phone plans before committing to a handset.
- Use the Rakuten resident support guide and FAQ if documents, eSIM, payment, or MNP are still unclear.
- This site includes referral links. Open the referral page only after the official product and campaign rules fit, and recheck the live Galaxy page on the day you apply.
